Cookie Policy
Version 2026-09-13
RoadTripDesk currently uses only necessary first-party session/security state in the application. Optional analytics and marketing tracking are not enabled at launch.
Necessary cookies
A first-party RoadTripDesk session cookie is used for sign-in, CSRF protection, account security and continuity between requests. It is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and it is Secure in beta/production so the browser only sends it over HTTPS. This cookie is required for authenticated RoadTripDesk features.
Preferences
Preferences such as time format, map preference and whether the welcome guide has been completed are stored with your RoadTripDesk account where practical, rather than in optional browser tracking storage.
Third-party map and partner services
Map tiles or other feature content can be requested from the selected external provider when you use that feature, for example OpenStreetMap or Mapbox. Server-side routing, geocoding and accommodation lookups may also contact external providers with the minimum information needed for the request. Affiliate partners may use their own cookies or tracking after you actively follow a partner link away from RoadTripDesk.
Analytics and marketing cookies
RoadTripDesk does not currently enable optional analytics or marketing cookies in the application. If optional tracking is added later, it must remain disabled until the appropriate consent choice is available, and this policy must be updated before that tracking is enabled.
